NYTISHA GILLIS
Cheerleading is my enthusiasm for my self-directed pursuit of knowledge. I am a varsity Cheerleader at the school that I attend. I’ve been cheerleading since I was younger and three years since I’ve been in high school. I enjoy learning more about cheerleading as I can. I’ve read books such as “I was a Non-blonde Cheerleader” by Kieran Scott and “Brunettes strikes back” also by Kieran Scott. I also read magazines and try to take tumbling classes. I expect to take tumbling classes in the summer where I will continue to work on my cheerleading abilities. I also am present at things such as Fundraisers and Competitions. Television shows impresses me as well to help my ability of learning more and stretching out my knowledge of the things I already know. There are things that I can improve by reading magazines, looking at television shows, and tips from the internet. Therefore, I will improve in jumps, chants, and stunts. Eventually, that will develop our cheerleading squad in the things that we will need to improve in. In the midst of another terrific year of cheerleading I will always have a positive attitude towards it even if I’m having a dreadful day. Mainly, I will always show others that I am a leader and love learning things about cheerleading to have better quality.

Disdainful of learning
Others say: He just comes around for work
“There’s something you’re not telling me. What is it? Mary, confess. He said he’d come to ditch the meadow for me-didn’t he?”
Inference: By his actions observed by Warren
“But you can bet when he starts off like that it’s just someone trying to coax him off with a little pocket-change.”
Unreliable

Others say: When pay is better else where he leaves
“He bundles every forkful in its place, then tags and numbers it for future reference, so he can find and easily dislodge it in the unloading. Silas does that well. He takes it out in bunches like big birds’ nests. And you never see him standing on the hay when he’s trying to lift, straining to lift him.

Inference: He’s worked for Mary & Warren over the years and would leave in the middle of an important project just for better pay

Career Answers:
1.
Where do you want to be in five years? What type of education are you going to pursue after you get out of high school? Community college, four-year college, technical institute? Please be honest with yourself. If you have a 2.0 G.P.A as a junior, you are not going to the University of Florida or Harvard. Are you going in the Armed Forces? If so, are you in JROTC? If not, why not? What branch of the Armed Forces and why that branch?
o In five years I would want to be in Medical School. I want to finish all four years in college for the career I would like to enter. I want to be an Optometrist. Therefore, I have to take Pre-Optometry classes. After High School I would like to be in a Four-year college. No, I am not going to the Armed Forces. Neither do I have interest in the Armed Forces.

2. Thinking ahead to the future, where do you want to be in 10 years with your career, family, etc. Have you researched this job or career? Shadowed anyone? Know anyone who is in this job or career? Why did you choose this particular job or career? What attributes do you have that would help you be a success in this area? Is there anything that might prevent you from accomplishing your goals? (money, grades, ability)—Please be honest with yourself. If you have trouble in math and science classes, you probably are not going to be a doctor. How much money do you think you can make at that job? How long do you think you will work before you can retire?
o In ten years I would like to have a Doctor of Optometry Degree. I would at least want to be close to having that degree. Yes, I have researched this career. No, I haven’t shadowed anyone but I am very interested in shadowing someone. Yes, my mother is in this job field but it’s not her career. I chose this career because seeing my mother dealing with optometry things I’ve became interested and wanted to learn more about it. By me having good grades through grade school I think that will help me be successful in this area. If anything money may stop my ability but otherwise I am very confident in myself so I will try hard to achieve my goals. I think I can make between $70,140 and $125,460. I think I will work about 50 years before I can retire.
3. What are your educational goals: I want to keep up my grades and maintain my perfect attendance.
This academic year: I want to get as many community service hours as possible and volunteer to help out with the community.
Senior year: I want to join as many clubs as possible and focus on my career more.

4. What have you done for your school or community? Have you volunteered, donated blood, etc.
o I have worked with Seminole pride and done things such as cleaning up the streets. I have volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club to help the kids with any school work or etc.

5. Have you considered some type of volunteer program for the summer that will advance you toward your goal? Would you be interested?
Yes, I have considered some type of volunteer program for the summer that will advance you toward your goal. I would be interested because I would like to volunteer at the hospital and that can help me focus on my career interest. I also would like to do the school program 21st Century.

For instance, you may be a good writer or enjoy reading, but you haven’t done well in English.) Is your academic record going to prevent you from the career that you have chosen?
I have 3.5 in math, 2.5 in English, 1.5 in social studies, and about 8 or more in electives. I recently just received my progress report and my grades were 6 As and 1 B. No I have not taken any honors or AP classes. I am good at writing and math and I do well in Math class and English. My academic record is not going to prevent me from the career that I have chosen. I have passed FCAT math but I didn’t pass FCAT reading. Right about now I don’t know what the scores are but before time I didn’t pass FCAT reading. I have taken the ACT and my score was 17 I know I can do much better than that. I have not taken the SAT and I plan on taking it either August or September which ever date available.
III. How much is your post-secondary education going to cost? Have you researched this at all? How are you going to pay for it? Are you on track to receive any scholarship or grant money?
